This past summer, I had the honor of photographing Adela and Adam’s beautiful wedding in the Czech Republic. It was a day full of emotions, spontaneity, and unforgettable moments.
The day began with preparations, where I had the opportunity to document the intimate, behind-the-scenes moments. From the bride nervously glancing at the clock on the wall to the groom’s father with tear-filled eyes as his son helps him tie his bow tie, every detail reflected the emotional depth of this special day.
After the ceremony, we decided to escape the chatter of enthusiastic aunties and slipped away for a romantic photo walk. This quiet escape allowed the newlyweds to share their first moments together as husband and wife. We started in a lovely meadow behind the main building, capturing soft, romantic shots surrounded by nature. Then, we stumbled upon an incredible brick wall that added a unique backdrop to their portraits. The bride and groom were amazed by the originality of this spot, and it truly made for some unforgettable photos.
Another highlight of the day was capturing a cherished Czech wedding tradition – throwing the bridal bouquet, which is said to bring marriage to whoever catches it next. As the bouquet sailed through the air toward a group of single women, none stepped forward. Instead, a middle-aged man enthusiastically jumped in, making his best effort to catch it. That unexpected moment, filled with humor and optimism, became one of my favorite shots of the wedding day.
As the evening settled in, the celebration culminated in a magical first dance. In complete darkness, the couple swayed to their favorite song, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith, surrounded by a circle of their closest friends. Guests waved lights and sang along, creating an
unforgettable atmosphere.
As a wedding photographer, I specialize in capturing these authentic, unscripted moments that tell the true story of your day. If you’re planning a wedding in Austria, the Czech Republic, or beyond, and want your photos to reflect the real emotions and unique details of your celebration, I’d love to connect and be part of your wedding day.
